While they were done with being "the perfect moms" in the first Bad Moms film, it's the seasonal highlight of Christmas that the Bad Moms rebel against in A Bad Moms Christmas. And to make matters worse, the moms' own moms are joining in, too…
A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) must be the speediest sequel in the history of film, having been released just one year after the first Bad Moms film in 2016.
After the events of the first Bad Moms film, Amy Mitchell (Mila Kunis) has become a much more relaxed mom. Having got rid of her useless husband, she now lives in a happy blended family with her two kids, the "hot widower" from Bad Moms 1 and his adorable daughter.
But the fun ends when Amy's own mother Ruth (Christine Baranski) turns up. After all, Ruth is an ultra‐extreme control freak…
The other two ladies get an unexpected "seasonal visit" from their mothers, too: While Sandy (Cheryl Hines) is clinging too much onto her daughter Kiki and even copies Kiki's hairstyle, Carla's mother Isis ("yes, like the terrorist organisation", played by Susan Sarandon) is a "free spirit" who still refuses to become a "responsible adult".
Of course, there are going to be tensions with these bunch of ladies… and the big question is: Can Christmas be saved after all?
The Film Locations
The Film Locations: In contrast to the first Bad Moms movie (2016), which was largely filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana, A Bad Moms Christmas was shot almost entirely in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Trampoline Park where the whole clan (including all moms) is headed for "a fun day out" is the Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Newnan, Georgia.
And Amy's lavishly decorated "Christmas house" is also located in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia.

Contrary to some of the many bad reviews that A Bad Moms Christmas received, I thought this sequel was actually just as funny and entertaining as the first Bad Moms movie. Sure, the r‐rated humour was still pretty much "below the belt". So much so that there were certain scenes when I was actually "ashamed" to laugh out loud in the cinema (just three words: "hot hunk waxing").
But overall, this one was as good as the first movie, so I will have to give the overall amount of stars. In my opinion, A Bad Moms Christmas is the funniest Xmas movie of the year!
***** 5 out of 5 stars
